Narsinghpur
The
District Institute of Education and Training, Narsinghpur is
the pioneer institute of teacher education in Narsinghpur. It
functions under the guidance and supervision of Madhya Pradesh
State Council of Educational Research and Training, an
assimilated body of the Rajya Shiksha Kendra Madhya Pradesh.
Narsinghpur, the city of Lord Narsimha has the credit of being
the first literate district in the Hindi speaking states. It
is situated between 22045″ and 23015″
latitude north, and 780 38″ and 39038″
longitude east. It is situated at 346 meters to 377
meters above from mean sea level. The total area of the
district is 5133 Sq. K.M The climate is temperate. The average
annual rainfall is 1230 mm. The underground water table is
30-70 feet. This is due to the river Narmada that flows
majestically through the district. The borders of the district
touch Satpura / Vindhyachal range at one end and the river
Narmada on the other. The districts of Sagar,
Jabalpur,
Seoni , Chhindawara, Hoshangbad and Raisen surround
Narsinghpur
on its sides.
